Celcom has launched a WiFi hotspots service across Malaysia, under the name of Celcom First WiFi.
Celcom First WiFi will be available at more than 400 locations, including key shopping malls, transportation hubs, business centres, offices and hotels, with more locations by the end of March next year.
Celcom says that their Celcom First WiFi runs over three times faster than the average 384 kbps of other hotpots.
Rates are competitive and is even free for some Celcom customers. During the promotion Celcom would not impose data volume limits, usually set at 200 MB, 500 MB and 1 GB respectively for daily, weekly, and monthly subscriptions.
Celcom customers subscribe via SMS to ‘ON WIFI’ to 22188.
Celcom customers on the Celcom First Data Advance and Celcom First Data Pro plans will get this service free, with daily usage rates starting from as low as RM1 per day for U.O.X customers or RM2 for others. There are also weekly and monthly subscriptions with more value.
Non-Celcom users will only be able to take advantage of Celcom First WiFi later in the year.
